Christmas...

Finally...Christmas 2015 is here. I normally like Christmas because of the family time I get to enjoy with the family. This year, I get to go back home for a whole week after nearly a whole year being away for my stomping grounds.

The profile pic, and my computer background has this photo. This reminds me where I come from mostly everyday. Shows me clarity and zero pollution, rather than being in Phoenix. That aside, I hope y'all have a great Christmas this year.

Media Influence...

...is a big thing on our society. The way my brothers and I use it on a daily bases really influences us through our homework to our social media uses. Especially, the way we get our news on a daily bases, is through our social media. Although, we have to be careful on how we watch and believe the news, especially in the political world. Take Fox News for an example, they tend to be very biased on the news, and making a particle side or organization look better than the other.

Trump for President?

...Is this really a good idea? That's one thing we should be asking ourselves every time we see him in the media. The United States should not have Islamophobia especially if we're in the year 2015. Yes, I believe racism is a big part of Mr. Donald Trump's success on the campaign trail. Because, we have racial slurs and people in our society that hate to be seen as that type of person. For Donald Trump to encourage this kind of bigotry and hateful activity, I will not stand for that, and I hope you won't. Tell me where you stand and your opinions.

Outraged...

Hey guys, so this past weekend, on Friday the 13th of November, a terrorist attack happened in Paris, Franc. And also several other places that the media didn't really care to mention. But it's really a tragedy, how so many lives were taken that day. There were 6 attack site throughout Paris and over 100 people killed. In times like this, you can't really jump the gun and have anger make your decisions. Like what Mahatma Gandhi said, 

"An eye for an eye, only makes the whole world blind." 

The reason why I say this is because it's easy to shoot and ask questions later, but then put the wrong lives at risk. Just like what happened at 9/11, when we exposed so much chemicals to the innocent lives in Iraq. 

Gun Control

Hey guys, this time I wanna talk about gun control and why "I" believe we should past this legislation. I don't know if y'all seen this video of President Obama's speech after the Oregon college shootings.

As you can see, President Obama has had enough with these mental and unstable individuals that want to bring harm to innocent people. Just THEY got nothing lose. Not thinking of those families of those that were killed. In my opinion, I think we need this gun regulation law to take effect. It may not solve the whole world's problem with that legislation, but it's a step in the right direction. Also, my family does own fire arms and we use it for recreational activities, and as long as you're a responsible owner you don't have anything to worry about. Slanted Reporting

Hey guys, this week's blog is going to be about "slanted reporting," and I thought a really good example would be of Fox News. Fox News tends to be a little of biased about their political topics especially like this one about gun control.

There are many examples that Fox News' show "The Five" displays. And in my opinion I don't really care for Fox News board casting. It seems a little too over exaggerated and sometimes they're really not telling the full side of the story. I think, they're broadcasting only to a specific community of viewers, such as, people that are republicans. Tell me what you think...and maybe I'll respond...

ASU plans a 7-week courses

So this week I came across an old article by the Arizona Republic. It said, that Arizona State University, plans on changing some traditional 15-week courses. By changing it from 15 to 7-week course they believe it would help the student in tuition cost and in time management. Here's the article...

I would really agree with the actions of the university on this matter. Because I'm currently enrolled at a community college and I like courses that are 7-8 weeks long rather than the usual 15-16 weeks. I like how it's fast paced, so I am able to get more credits down and out of the way, rather than have several classes during the same time frame. Tell me what you think would be good for you?

Az Capitol

I guess I'll be posting here weekly. Or maybe even biweekly. But aside, this weekend I was to go downtown to see apart of Arizona's history and government. I took, what I thought was a good picture of the Arizona Capitol building. I found the purple light from the building very intriguing.

Hey guys, my name is Deion, and I'm making my first post. Here's little bit about myself. I'm 19 years old. I'm a Native American (Navajo). I'm currently going to Glendale Community College (GCC) in Phoenix, Az. I love learning about American History or history in general. Thanks to my dad, I found a strong interest on this topic. When it comes to music, I like the classic rock genre. Also, thanks to my dad. A passion that was influenced by my mother, was helping people and giving back.
